Dear member

Welcome to a new season at Laffak Riding Club. We will be starting the season off with the first point show on 19th April; the other shows are 17th May, 21st June, 19th July, 16th August and 20st September. The Trophy Show will be on Bank Holiday Monday 31st August.  Because we where unable to run last years Trophy Show and had already bought the trophies, we will be giving them out to the highest placed member at the first show. On this years years schedule you will notice that class 1 will be a Ridden Veteran Class, sorry I have had to put it at 10a.m. but it was the only time I could fit it in without clashing with other classes.

The membership fees will be the same as last year Senior's £14 and Junior's £12. The class entry fee will stay the same at £4.00 members & £5.00 non-members. you will notice on the membership form I have put a space for a mobile phone number, this is in case we have to cancel a show and I can't get hold of you, I will be able to send a Text to a contact number. Its also important that you put your post code on the membership form as we have to register out entire membership with the British Horse Society Riding Clubs, so if they don't have a post code they don't send out the free copy of the Rider Magazine. The British Riding Clubs have changed the age of a Junior,  it is now not to have attained their eighteenth birthday on 1.1.2009; so I have changed all the ages that are relevent. If you want to get yourself organised before the show, you can print off a membership form & a class entry form from the website; hopefully this will speed things up first thing in the morning.

On the 17th May we will be holding a qualifier for The Premier Riding Club Championship which takes place on 11th & 12th July at Bold Heath E.C., Widnes. The shows from April to August will be qualifiers for the Northwest Show Jumping Championships to be held on 29th & 30th August at Brookhouse Equestrian Centre, Northwich Cheshire. The 18th May & the 15th June shows will be qualifiers for the Festival Association Summer Championship to be held at Landlords Farm, Aspull on 24th to 26th July. We will also be entering the Winter Championship held at Aintree E.C. on 22-23, 26-31 October & 1st November. This year there will be a new show run by the B.H.S. Riding Clubs in our area. This will be a Showing show, so no Show jumping just ridden & In-Hand showing, Equitation & working Hunter. I don't have a confirmed schedule yet, but it will be held at Macclesfield Riding club on the 6th June, members will accrue points for their club for an overall winning club.  

The St. Helens Show will be taking place on 4th & 5th July at Sherdley Park St. Helens. We will once again run classes for Ridden & In-hand Showing and Equitation on Saturday 4th and Show Jumping classes on Sunday 56th. Schedules for this show will be available later in the season.

As usual I am pleading for help before the shows and also on show days, we especially need people to help putting out jumps in the jumping ring on the Saturday. Can I also appeal to members and friends to help at the end of the jumping classes, by giving a hand putting the jumps to the side of the ring.

We are looking for SPONSORS for the Club Shows & St. Helens Show. If there is anyone who would to like to help the club by sponsoring a class, Please contact me and will give you some details.

You can get a copy of the schedule from this website. Please note on the schedule there is only a start time for the beginning of the day and a NBF (not before time ) for after lunch so please make sure you keep your eyes open to make sure what class is in the ring, as all classes will follow on,. Its up to you to be on time, if you are in one class and are also needed in another class please let the judge know.
