RING ONE - RIDDEN SHOWING

Class 1:
Veteran Horse/Pony: 
10:15a.m.
Horse or Pony over 15 years of age.
Class 2:
Senior Showing:
To follow
Horses to exceed 148cm (14.2hh). Rider any age.  All exhibits must be plaited.
Class 3:
Lead Rein Showing: To follow

Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Rider 8 years old & under on the 1.1.10.  Snaffle bridles only.  Lead Rein must be attached to nose band.

Lead Rein riders may not enter anyother class off the lead Rein

Class 4:
Novice Showing:
To follow
Open height.  Horse/pony not to have won a ridden showing class before 1.1.10.
Class 5: First Ridden Showing: To follow Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Rider 10 years old & under on 1.1.10.  Ponies will not canter together; they may canter if they chose in their individual show.
Class 6:
Junior Showing: To follow

Ponies not to exceed 148cm (14.2hh). Rider 17 years old & under on 1.1.10

All exhibits must be plaited.

Open Cob:

Show or Traditional Cob.  Open height.  Rider any age.
Class 8:
Coloured, Spotted & Palomino:

Class 9:

RING TWO - INHAND
Class 14:
Young Stock:

Colt, Filly or Gelding any height. 3 years old & under on1.1.10. No stallions over 2 years old allowed. All junior handlers must wear protective head gear.
Class 15:
Yearling: To follow
Cot or Filly. Born 2009
Class 16:
Pure & Part Bred Arab: To follow

Class 17: Mountain & Moorland

Large Breeds.  To be shown in their natural state.
Class 18: Coloured, Spotted & Palomino: To follow Open height.

Class 25: Veteran Horse or Pony To follow Horse or Pony over 15 years of age.
Class 26: Junior Handler To follow 12 years old & under. To be judged on the handlers ability to show the Pony.
Class 27: Junior Handler To follow 13 to 17 years old. To be judged on the handlers ability to show the Pony.
Class 28: Senior Handler To follow 18 years old & over. To be judged on the handlers ability to show the Horse

 

RING THREE - EQUITATION

Snaffle Bridles only, No Martingales, Boots or Bandages in all Equitation classes.

Class 29:
Beginner Equitation:
10:15a.m.

Rider any age. Riders not to have won Equitation class before 1.1.10. Rider may continue to enter as a beginner all season but may not enter any other Equitation class in the same season.

Class 30:
Junior Equitation: To follow
Riders 13 years and under on 1.1.10. 
Class 31: Intermediate Equitation:

To follow

Riders over 13 years and under 18 years on 1.1.10. 
Class 32: First Ridden Equitation: To follow Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Rider 10 years old & under on 1.1.10. Ponies will not canter together; but they may canter in their individual show.
Class 33: Lead Rein Equitation: To follow

Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Rider 8 years old & under on 1.1.10.

Class 34: Senior Equitation: To follow Riders 18 years old & over on 1.1.10.
Class 35: Bonny Pony: To follow Any size Horse/Pony. Rider any age. Not to have have won a showing or Equitation class at Laffak in the previous season.
Class 36: Riding Club Horse/Pony: To follow Any size Horse/Pony. Rider any age. They will be expected to ride a figure of eight & jump a small jump.

 

RING FOUR - BEST TURNED OUT

Class 37:
Senior Best Turned Out:
9:45a.m.
Rider 18 years old & over on 1.1.10. Any size horse/pony.
Class 38:
Junior Best Turned Out: 10:00am
Rider 17 years old & under on 1.1.10. Any size horse/pony.
Class 39:
Lead Rein Best Turned Out: 10:15am
Rider 8 years old & under on 1.1.10. Ponies not to exceed 133cm (13hh).

 

RING FOUR - HANDY PONY

THE HANDY PONY RING WILL BE OPEN FROM 11:15a.m. UNTIL 1.45p.m. You can compete any time between the times stated.  Results will be available from the entry van after 2pm.

Class 40: Lead Rein Handy Pony:
Ponies not to exceed 128 cm (12.2hh). Rider 8 years old & under on 1.1.10.
Class 41:
138cm (13.2hh) & Under Handy Pony: Ponies not to exceed 138cm (13.2hh). Rider 15 years old & under on 1.1.10.
Class 42:
Over 138cm (13.2hh) Handy Pony: Horses/Ponies over 138cm (13.2hh). Rider any age.

RING FIVE - WORKING HUNTER

Competitors may not enter the Novice Class and the Open Class.  Previous Novice Points Winners May Not Enter the Novice Working Hunter Classes

Class 43:
Novice Working Hunter Horse:
Not before 1.30p.m.
Horses to exceed 153cm (15hh). Rider any age. Maximum height of fences 2’6”.    Rule 11 will apply.
Class 44:
Working Hunter Horse:
To follow
Horses to exceed 153cm (15hh). Rider any age. Maximum height of fences 2’9”.
Class 45:
Novice Working Hunter Pony: 
To follow
Ponies not to exceed 153cm (15hh). Rider 18 years old & under on 1.1.10.  Maximum height of fences 2’3”. Rule 11 will apply.
Class 46:
Mountain & Moorland Working Hunter:
To follow
To be shown in their natural state. 133cm (13hh) & under, Maximum height of Working Hunter fences 2’3”.  133cm (13hh) & over, Maximum height of fences 2’6”.         Small breeds to jump first.
Class 47:
Open Working Hunter Pony:
To follow Ponies not to exceed 153cm (15hh). Rider 18 years & under on 1.1.10. Maximum height of fences 2’6”.

 

RING SIX - SHOW JUMPING

Clear Round Jumping: 10:00am Until 11:00am. Competitors who jump a clear round will receive a rosette.
Class 48:
Junior Novice Jumping:
11:15a.m.

Ponies not to exceed 148cm (14.2hh). Rider 17 years & under on 1.1.10.

Fences will not exceed 2'3" in the first round.

The 2009 Novice & Open Points winners are ineligible to enter the Novice Class.

Riders entering the Novice Class May Not Enter the Open Class.

Class 49:
Junior Intermediate Jumping:

Ponies not to exceed 148cm (14.2hh). Rider 17 years & under on 1.1.10.

Fences will not exceed 2’6” in the first round.

Class 50:
Junior Open Jumping:

Ponies not to exceed 14.2hh (148cms). Rider 17 years & under on 1.1.10. Maximum height of fences in the first round 2’9”. 
Clear Round Jumping: 1pm Until 2pm. Competitors who jump a clear round will receive a rosette.
Class 51:
Mark Davies Charity Class: 
2.15pm approx
Novice Jumping (Juniors & Seniors Combined).  In Aid of the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund.
Class 52:
Senior Novice Jumping: To follow

Rule 8: Stallions or colts over 2 years old which have not been gelded are not allowed on the club field under any circumstances.  Colts must wear a suitable bridle & bit and be handled by persons over 14 years of age.  Junior Handlers must wear protective headgear.

Rule 11: In the case of a rider over 18 years riding a smaller pony, the age of the rider determines the class. For a rider under 18 years riding a larger horse, the size of the horse determines the class.

Rule 16: A Rider going in Lead Rein classes may not enter any classes off the Lead Rein

COMPETITORS MUST BE CORRECTLY DRESSED IN ALL CLASSES; EVERYBODY MOUNTED MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR TO AT LEAST EN1384.  PAS015 OR ASTMF1163 ARE CONSIDERED TO OFFER GREATER PROTECTION THEN EN1384.  SNELL E95 AND SNZ 38381998 ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE. THESE HATS MUST BE WORN WITH THE HARNESS PROPERLY ADJUSTED AND FASTERNED; FAILURE TO DO SO WILL INCUR ELIMINATION.

NEITHER THE CLUB OR ANY PERSON ACTING ON ITS BEHALF SHALL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INJURY, ACCIDENT, and DAMAGE OR LOSS TO ANY COMPETITOR, SPECTATOR OR ANIMAL.

DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON THE LEAD AT ALL TIMES.

Class 7:
Ponies not to exceed 12.2hh (128cms). Rider 10 years old & under on 1.1.2010.
